What are you waiting for?

Earl is expected to make a brief appearance tomorrow but it seems everybody has been taking shelter all week? Gorgeous day again - Sunny...hot with highs in the lower 90s. South winds 10 to 15 mph. Take advantage of today because Friday it will get a little snotty.
The monster blues have shown up and they came with an attitude! From the anglers I talked with, they were some tackle bustin alligators. We had 9-14 pounders weighed in. Oh, and Thank You Nancy for the little gifty you left after you weighed your fish in! I didnt hear much from the Flukers yesterday but then again, very few of the dinner guests get weighed in so not hearing complaints either is a good thing.
If you are interested in learning how to make fingertrap splices for long leaders using PowerPro Hollow Ace, ask me next time you are in the store and I will give you a Demo.
It was wonderful to see that package come in from Seeker. It means Mike will leave me alone for a few days. Kinda like a kid at Xmas that will even play with the wrapping paper.

Fall is right on our heels and if you are planing to have that custom rod made now is the time to get it ordered. Sooner ordered sooner fished.
Grumps been talking so much about the hollow ace that he′s generated so much hot air it has shown up on radar so the weather service gave it a name EARL. He says I talk a lot.....

The run of good weather continues!
But it wont last much longer, Earl is on the way. Only 6 days of Fluke left and we are just beginning to see the big ones. Get em now because I think we may end up with some real bumpy water when Earl arrives.
Here is what the weather idiots think about today - Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. West winds around 5 mph... becoming south this afternoon.
Mike may be even more distracted today than usual, if that is possible. Seeker delivered a big box yesterday and when I last saw him his eyes were glazed over and he was drooling.

Some of the 7′ Hercules blanks that I′ve been waiting for have shown up. I received the 748H blanks. Still waiting for the 748g blanks. They will be in in a couple weeks. I also got the 7′ factory built Inshore ll rods in. These are sweet boat spinning rods. Great for bass, blues etc. The last shipment I got of these rods sold out in two days......Mike

Some nice Fluke araound!
Joe Barbee pulled a 10 lb Fluke out of the inlet from the jetty yesterday. I suspect there are more where he came from because the Spearing are on the move. Doubtful that they are all that big but with only a week of Fluke left, it would be a good spot to be looking. More of those 10-12 lb Blues are in the neighborhood too. Bunker chunks or Mullet are doing the job. I didn′t hear any more rumors of Bass . Instead I got a picture in my email of one of these middle of the night Bass!
In case you havent heard, we have a tiny tropical storm (named Earl) that may interfere with our fishing. You may want to take advantage of this weather - Sunny. Highs in the upper 80s. North winds around 5 mph...becoming south this afternoon.
After spending all this time with Mike, I am wondering if Earth is the insane asylum for the universe!

8 Days of Fluke to go!
We do not have a lot of fish coming to the scale but it seems that there are a lot of fish being caught considering there were not a lot of fishermen hitting the beaches this weekend. Sunbathing and lounging season is coming to an end soon so there will be much more room to fish. We had a taste of blues up to the 12 lb range but the majority of them have been under 5 lbs and scattered around. Fluking from the beach remains good with gulp on a bucktail being a consistant performer. I am still hearing persistant rumors of Bass being caught on clams but the keepers must be shy because the never get to the scale.
Another day of frustration for the doom & gloom weatherman - Sunny...hot with highs in the lower 90s. North winds 5 to 10 mph. Yup, another beach day!
I think I know why I talk to Mike. The odds are he will say something smart soon!

Another Pretty Day
Ya gotta love it when the weather idiots cant find a raindrop to focus on - Sunny...hot with highs in the lower 90s. West winds 5 to 10 mph. You got it! Beach Day!!
Only 9 days left in the Fluke season so get em while you can. We didnt get a lot of reports from the beach yesterday. It seems that everybody went there and just stayed to enjoy a beautiful day. We did have a couple of guys come back for more mullet after an encounter with the small blues and the Fluke are still biting with Gulp as the bait of choice.
If you have the ability to learn from your mistakes, Mike should be able to open his own university soon!

10 Days of Fluke to go!
We are rapidly running out of time to get your fill of Fluke. Make time to go or dont complain if the weather changes and blows you out, and you should know how quickly the weather can change this time of year.
The weather should be no problem today - Sunny. Highs in the lower 80s. North winds 5 to 10 mph... becoming northeast this afternoon. The weather idiots are leaving us alone so take advantage of it.
The last couple of days have had some 12 lb Bluefish hung on the scale! They are taking assorted metals and bunker or mullet. The Fluking is still good on the surf (only 10 days left, remember) and bucktails with GULP is still a best bet. More of those rumors of keeper Bass are floating around. Be nice to see them on my scale.
I think Mike has a new plan - The sooner he gets behind, the more time he has to catch up!

If I get a little behind, oh never mind I′ll only get in trouble. 12 lb blue from the surf last night there will be more where that came from. Took a bunker chunk .....Mike
