Some Nice Bass out there!
Monday, May, 20, 2013 at 3:54AM
Yesterdays rain did what was expected and kept 80% or more of the fishermen at home! The Blues seemed to prefer the morning shift with the Bass taking over later and from what came to the scale, some bigger Bass have shown up! There should be lots of fishing room today because Mondays are always quiet and the forecast is less than sunny and pretty. We have Fresh Bunker and Fresh Clams!
The evil weatherman wanted to cover multiple possibilities in hopes of having some of it right - Cloudy this morning...then becoming partly sunny. Scattered showers. Areas of dense fog this morning. Scattered thunderstorms this afternoon. Highs in the lower 70s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.
If being dumb was a crime, Mike would be serving multiple consecutive life sentences.

Its Time to Fish!
The boat fishermen had a great day yesterday with 9 Bass weighed in up to 48.65 lbs. The surf guys hung another 10 bass, 6 blues and the first Fluke of the season on our scale! The large body of bunker that had been 3 miles or so off the beaches has moved much closer in and things could get really heat up fast! The surf had a lot of dinner size Bass, Blues from 4 to 11 lbs, Blow fish that are well above the usual sixes seen and of course, the first Fluke of the season at 2.4 lbs. We have loads of Fresh Clams and Fresh Bunker.
The evil weatherman has come up with another forecast that is lousy for tanning but good for fishing - Cloudy. Showers likely...mainly in the morning. Highs in the mid 60s. Southeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent. Leave the sun block home and grab the rain gear and a rod!
Mike has the day off today. He has to put his tongue in a sling after talking nonstop all day yesterday!

Its Flukeday!
Today is the first day of the Fluke season! The minimum size is 17.5 inches with a 5 fish limit! Weve got your GULP!
IBSP is now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! The beach is now open all the way to the North Jetty. You can buy your Beach Buggy Permit at the main office (between the bathing pavillions) from 8am till 4pm, 7 days a week. The store is now open at 4:30am everyday!
Steve Minkema brought in a 39.90 lb Bass he took doing snag n drop from a boat yesterday. No weigh-ins from the beach yesterday which surprised me. The ocean water temps have rebounded into the upper 50s and I expect it to go up again today. A customer got into 5-8 lb blues on the Seaside park beaches yesterday and wore himself out. If you want to give the Blowfish a shot, we have Blowfish rigs and Fishbites. We have plenty of Fresh Clams and Fresh Bunker!
The weather idiots came up with this - Partly sunny in the morning...then mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Mike does not need to worry about losing his mind. He didnt order that option when he was born.

Great News!!!
After IBSP opens at 6:30 this morning, they will stay open! They will be back to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! The remainder of the beach south of A23 to the jetty is now open. A sincere thanks to all the people that worked so hard for so many hours to restore the park!
Starting Saturday, we will open at 4:30 am, 7 days a week.
Fluke seasin opens tomorrow, May 18th. The min size is 17.5 inches with a 5 fish bag limit!
Yesterday, we hung a few Bass and a 13lb Bluefish on the scale! We are looking at a pretty nice forecast so get out and play with the fishies! We have loads of Fresh Clams and Fresh Bunker.
The weather idiots are gonna try this - Sunny. Highs in the lower 70s. North winds 5 to 10 mph.
Mike has been having serious delusions of adequacy.

It has come to my attention that Grump has two brains. One is lost and the other one is out looking for it......

Sneak Preview of Summer!
What a good looking beach day! Lets hope the weather idiots have this one right (for a change). Not many fishermen out and about yesterday so the report is a little thin. The Bass and Blues are still cooperating and it is still a meat game. The Blowfish bite has been good and in some places sounds more like an infestation. Clams and Fishbites are the ticket. Ocean water temps are in the mid 50s and slowly climbing. Todays weather should help.
The weather idiots seem confident about this - Partly sunny. Highs around 80. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph...becoming southeast this afternoon.
Mike should try to return his gift of gaeb! It is way too big!
