Big News In The Shop Today!

We have a few things to announce.  We will start with our biggest news.  We have been developing this for at least 9900 seconds.  A lot of R&D went into this one, so we are excited to present…

The Grumpys Tackle 3-Mile Fishing Drone.  It is a 4 prop drone with a flying time of one hour and a carrying capacity of 14 ounces.  Perfect for a Bob The Garbageman approved bunker chunk (Anise sold separately) and 8 oz sinker.  It has two standard 4K video cameras and a single thermal camera so you can detect the HOT bite (it will show up on the camera as red).

So why did we make this?  The hot spring and fall bite for large striped bass has occurred 3 miles off the beach here in NJ.  Boats trolling the 3 mile line have done well on fish up to 79 pounds the past 4 years.  We saw a need for the shore bound angler to get in on the action without spending a small fortune on a piece of fiberglass with a motor.  We are putting together packages in the shop so an angler can get the drone, a heavy duty surf fishing rod, and a Penn International 50 VISW spooled with 5280 yards of 30 pound PowerPro

Don’t let the boats have all the fun, fish a Grumpys Tackle 3 mile Fishing Drone.

Also new, our own Scott WeFish has decided to get into the glider game.  He was tired of seeing what he called inferior gliders selling out in 10 minutes.  He felt he could do better.  How is his glider better?  Well, it has his picture on it.  We are waiting for their arrival off the boat, and then we will have them in the shop.  The line has already started, though the two guys there keep asking when Scott was going to pay them…

The bass fishing is still going strong .  But the bigger news is the spotted sea trout have moved into Barnegat Bay.  Anglers targeting bass in certain spots haven’t been able to get through the trout.  They have been catching them between 26 and 34 inches, and they have been taking teasers ahead of jig.  Chartreuse is the popular color.

Here re some other notable catches.

After a strong career in the Marvel movie universe, starting with Avengers: Age of Ultron and ending with WandaVision on Disney+, the hero Vision has retired and taken up fishing  Here he is with a bass he caught using a Got-Cha grub

Our own Scott is on the board too.  Ever the entrepreneur, Scott has started his own “SUPERFRESH KEEPIN IT REEL” Sushi Company.  Here he is about to take a big bite out of a super fresh Raritan Bay Roll that he caught on a Rapala Jiggin’ Rap

It’s not all fun and glory at Grumpys, however.  We are sad to report that our esteemed rod builder, Black Cloud Bob has decided to move on from rod building.  Ever since he was a little kid, he has always dreamed of being a truck driver.  He has decided to take the plunge and got a job driving a truck that delivers building supplies to job sites.  We are going to miss him (except Connor, who is already raiding his desk).  If you see him on the road, give him a Grumpys salute.

Well, we are at the end of the report, and we are not picking on Ray.  Happy April 1st Ray.
