Fluke and Spot and...

But first, shop news…

We are still having our online only sale for Kalin’s Jig Heads.  It runs until midnight on Tuesday, so time is running out.  So if you are looking for some quality jig heads for 30% off, now is the time to pull the trigger.

Fishing slowed a little over the holiday weekend.  Fluke were caught in the surf, but not like the week before.  And on Monday, the fluke fishing in the surf picked back up.  We can only assume the huge crowds in the water had something to do with it.  Now they are back on bucktails and flavored soft plastics

In the bay, there are still lots of spot and small croakers around to keep you busy. Sabiki rigs or spot rigs with Fishbites for them.

Here are some notable recent catches:

Our cover photo:  Cody with a nice fluke. Cody and his dad made the long walk to the jetty and were rewarded with this 25 inch 5.05lb fluke! Certified fish slayer, Cody reported excellent fluke action.

@bobbybullock13 with a 4.5 lb fluke caught in Gulp! in the surf.

@6.7tessing with a 4.15 lb fluke caught in his Hobie fishing kayak! You can get yours from Yakkity Yaks Kayaks next door

This is one of our stranger catches, and also the hottest Apple Watch bite we have ever had.  Terry tells us in his own words:  “Thought u might get a laugh! Bunch of shorts and a working Apple Watch that put up a good fight 😅 one in a million catch . Broke into the phone and found the owner and returned it to him today. We had a good laugh . He lost it earlier in the day surfing. It drifted about 4 streets from where he lost it to where I snagged it!”

You may notice tis week a certain lack of mayhem and havoc in the shop, and you are probably wondering why.  Scott has taken some vacation time and has gone to Florida.  We hear he is having a great time.
