Oh Boy, a mid-week fishing report...

We have been putting up fishing / shop status reports once a week for the past couple of months, with the idea that we will post more often when we have good stuff to post.  Well, guess what...

We got some good stuff to post.  We have been hearing about a lot of good fishing reports.  Winter flounder have been caught since the season has opened, but the big news is striped bass have been biting in Barnegat Bay.  Besides customer reports, we have had people from the shop go out and report back.  Those who went out and fished the east side of the bay have reported not seeing much (though one did see an otter, the only sign of life that night...).  But those who have fished the west side of the bay, and the rivers and creeks that feed into it, have found hungry bass.  Blood worms have been working well, as can be expected.  Also, small lures have been the ticket too.  Kettle Creek shads on light bullet head jig heads have been a hot lure.  Small shads, like the Tsunami Holographic Swim Shads, Storm WildEye Swim Shads, and Vudu shads have been working too.  Hard plastics, like the smallest Rapala X-rap and small Yo-zuri Mag Darters have worked.  And those who have purchased Scabelly Gliders from us in the past two months, now is the time to use them.

The picture above is a picture that Scott, frequent visitor to the shop, caught on the custom ODM rod he built for himself under the guidance of Blackcloud Bob.  Not only did it catch fish on his first trip out, he said it tasted good too (the rod I mean.  The fish was released).

The picture below was also supplied by Scott, and is of one of many bass that fell to a "Fire On The Mountain" Scabelly glider.

Ray was feeling a little jealous.  He insisted we show off his big catch too. It's his personal best...
