Status Quo, and that's a good thing...

Just a quick one for today, as not too much has changed.  The fluke fishing is still on fire, and they are still hitting bucktails and Gulp!  It is getting tough to keep the S&S Fluke Nukem Bucktails on the shelf.  Also, certain popular colors of Glup! is getting scarce, so you may want to get it while you can.

We had one of the biggest fluke of the year from the surf weighed in just as we were closing on Tuesday.  Anthony Belske’s fish weighed in at 6.2 pounds.

If it wasn’t for how epic the fluke fishing has been in the surf, we would be talking about the bluefish in the surf.  There have been popping up all over chasing small bait, likely rainfish.  Small metals and epoxy jigs have been producing for these fish.  A couple of weeks ago, we had Spanish Mackerel mixed in with the bluefish.  They seemed to have gone away as the water temp dropped a few degrees, but when the water gets those couple of degrees back, the Spanish Mackerel should be back.  The Midway Lures Resin Jig will be perfect for their return, as it is the correct size for the bait that is present.  Of course, they will work on the blues targeting this bait too.

Ya know, Ray takes way more than his fair share of abuse on this fishing report.  But he really is a good person to work with.  He certainly makes sure his employees are happy.  For example, since it has been hot out, he went out and installed a pool behind Grumpys for all of us to cool off in.  Here is Ray enjoying the pool himself…
