There are still stripers to be caught

We’ll explain how its still not over right after these words from our shop…

We have some fairly exciting shop news.  First, Santa stopped by early, assuming Santa is named Steve.  We got in a delivery of the popular and recently hard to find 9 Foot ODM DNA surf rods.  They are now no longer hard to find as we have plenty available both in the store and online. They make a great gift for your fishing loved one, or if you are looking to treat yourself.

We also have a few custom Black Hole Challenger Bank 701L spinning rods fresh off the dryer.  These make great rods for those who like to jig for tog, and also are great for the smaller bass we get around late in the season (and early next season).  And, they will be great fun if we get a run of big blues next spring.  Essentially, it’s a very versatile rod.  Available in the shop only.  We also have the stock Black Hole Challenger Bank rods available in the shop and online.

Our gift baskets were very popular.  We have one left, a Blackfish Gift Basket for the bottom fishing angler on your gifting list.  Available in store only.

And don’t forget, we have the Grumpy Santa event this weekend.  If you want a picture with Grumpy Santa and a candy cane, be in the shop between 7:00 am and Noon either Saturday or Sunday.  As we are doing this, we are raising money for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.   This hospital takes care of kids with cancer at no cost to their families, so these donations will help sick kids get better.  Please come help us help them.  You can look as happy as Mr Scabelly himself looks here.

Plus, we are having a sale to go with it…

As far as fishing goes, the striped bass are still around in the surf.  We are getting reports from a few groups of anglers who refuse to give up who have been on the fish in Seaside Park and out on Island Beach State Park for the past couple of days.  Avas and teasers have been the hottest lure.  Sand eel imitations from Bill Hurley and Tsunami are a close second followed by kettle creek shads on a jighead.

Larry got into them at sunrise the other morning.

Jeff Crabtree weighed in a beautiful 32” 11.70lb Bass on a AVA/Teaser Combo!

Not all of them are giants this time of year.  @asvpsweendog sent us this picture of his “fish of a lifetime”.  Scale down your gear and fish like these can be a fun way to wind out a season.

With this weekend’s e vent, its not just Grumpy Hisself who will be getting dressed up for the occasion.  You will want to coming in to see what other shenanigans we have in store.  I am not saying Jenni will be dressed as a tree but…

Bob is going for a Holiday Narwhal…

John is going as Cindy-Lou Who. (So disturbing..)

Frank is going for Princes Fiona.  I guess the green is Christmas-like.

Ray missed the point altogether.
