The story of Hopkins® began in 1949 when R.L. Hopkins, an avid salt water fisherman and experimenter, decided that a better lure was needed. His initial objectives were to develop a lure that could be cast for distance, that had good fish attracting action, and that could withstand the rigors of salt water fishing; a lure that would resist corrosion and be tough enough to handle those trophy-sized fish.
From this, Hopkins® Stainless Steel Lures was born.
We present to you the Hopkins® NO-EQL Hammered Spoon, a spoon lure designed for casting from the beach, shore, or boat. Although designed for the rigors of a saltwater environment, they work equally well in freshwater. The shape of the NO-EQL mimics mullet, spearing, and other slender profile baitfish, and the balanced weight make them an excellent casting lure, even into the wind.
Hopkins® Lures are forged from solid stainless steel stock. All are equipped with stainless steel split rings and all hooks are Mustad.
