New Stuff, New Contest...

But first, shop news…

We added some new items to the website this week.  First are FishTeck Guide repair kits.  These kits come with everything you need to repair a broken guide on the spot and get right back to fishing.  But how can that be if every shop (including ours) takes a couple days to repair a guide (to let the epoxy cure).  These use a UV Cure resin and carbon fiber tape instead of thread. The kit comes with a variety of guides, carbon fiber tape, UV Cure Epoxy, and a UV flashlight to cure the epoxy.  Keep in you truck or boat and you can be back on the hot bite in minutes instead of having your day be over.

We have also added a UV Torch Kit from Flashfix.  This kit contains a UV flashlight, rechargeable battery, and charger.  This is a more powerful light for quicker curing of UV Resins like in the guide repair kits above or the FlashFix Liquid Plastic Adhesive Kit.

We also added new sizes to our Lunker City Slug-go offerings.  We now carry 7.5 inch, 9 inch, and 12 inch sizes in addition to the 6 inch size..  These bigger sizes are going to land some serious sized striped bass.  And don't count them out for tuna either...

We had a huge shipment of FroggToggs waders arrive today.  The store is now full of HellBender Pro Bootfoot waders and Rana II waders.  We have also restocked the online store with Hellbenders.

Bait Mule has also dropped off a shipment of their bait containers.  Perfect for Gulp!

Did you hear about the nice thing our customer David McCallm did?  Read about it here:  https://patch.com/new-jersey/brick/tale-walking-stick-gift-card-brick-girls-smile.

The fishing remains steady in Barnegat Bay.  No real hotspots as reports have the fish spread out.  Bloodworms are still the best bait, and Kettle Creeks, NLBN 3 inch shads, Z-Man DieZel MinnowZ, Tsunami Shads and Storm shads are still the top lures.

We have been hearing good reports from a bay north of the shop.  Nice sized fish on metal lipped swimmers.

We haven’t heard much on winter flounder, but we suspect that is due more to lack of participation during the week, and not lack of fish.  We expect it will pick up over the weekend.  We have bloodworms.

We haven’t heard of any striped bass caught out front in the surf yet.  And because of that, we decided to have a little contest.  We have a $50 in-store gift card for the first two anglers who send us pictures of the first surf caught striped bass.  Contest area is between Manasquan Inlet and Barnegat Inlet, and the fish must be caught in accordance to all NJ laws.  Since you just need to submit a photo, there is no size limit, it just needs to be a striped bass. Starts on 3/30/2023. More details on our Instagram Post

Here are some notable catches:

Our own Scott got out on his plastic boat and found some fish.  He got one on a Lunker City Sluggo rigged on a BKK TitanRider hook.  The other fell to a Z-Man DieZel Minnow rigged on a Z-Man Redfish Eye jighead

Those of you who came into the shop on Wednesday may have noticed Ray was missing.  If you asked, you may have been told he went fishing.  That was a lie.  He was having issues in the bathroom…
