Not Over...
First, shop news.
We will be closing early (5:00 pm) on Monday, January 16th for our “employee appreciation party.” We will go back to our normal level of inter-employee abuse when we reopen at 7:00 am on January 17th.
Other than that, we will be open 7:00 am to 7:00 pm every day, all winter long.
Our Winter sales is confirmed for January 28th and 29th. The banner above has all of the information. Both Scabelly and Big Rock will have tables set up at 7:00 pm on Saturday, and will be there for at least as long as their inventory lasts. Going by previous sales, that won’t be long, so if you want a plug from either of them, be there early.
Believe it or not, those putting in their time fishing the surf have been finding hungry striped bass. Chris sent in the following pictures over the weekend of striped bass he found fishing the surf using teasers and Scabelly gliders. It’s not the fall run anymore, but it’s also not over.
Just a reminder (since we have received enough questions about the subject), the backwaters are currently closed to both striped bass fishing and winter flounder fishing. That means not only can you not keep them, you are not supposed to target them.
The employees of Grumpys are looking forward to our employee appreciation dinner. It should be way better than what Ray did last year…
