Out Like a Lamb My...

First, shop news.

We received a big order from ODM and have restocked everything (well almost.  Ray and/or Scott forgot the Jigster Surf Rods…).  If you were looking for an ODM product, we have it for you (except the aforementioned rods, that Ray and/or Scott forgot to order).  Some stuff is selling quickly, so if you are looking for something from ODM, I wouldn’t wait too long.

We have also restocked on the very popular Tsunami Tidal Pro Twitch Baits, including the color Bone, which sold out first and was hard to get for a while.  Get them while we have them.

Love Van Staal?  Wanna rep their brand, but have trouble getting on board with the goth all black look?  Do we have some good news for you?  We now have the Van Staal Trucker hat in a new color – Teal with a Navy embroidered logo, so now you won’t feel obligated to paint your nails black just to wear Van Staal clothing.  (We also restocked Van Staal hoodies, but just black available for those right now).

The weather has felt very against the NJ fisherman this March.  The saying "March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a lamb" does not seem to apply to this particular March.  There was a small flash of "lamb weather" the beginning of the month, and it has been lion the rest of the way.  Didn’t that rodent in Punxsutawney, PA predict an early spring?  We need to stop using animals to predict the weather.  Anyway, the striped bass are still around in the bay.  No real hotspots, and the anglers getting the most consistent bites are using bloodworms.

In the rumor mill we have heard the bass have shown up in a bay well north of the shop, and have been seen on some sophisticated electronics, but so far have shown an unwillingness to bite anything with any consistency (though this may be the fault of th eangler who brought us the rumor).  However, all it takes is a change of the weather…

Here is a recent local catch…

Bob and his wife managed a pair of bass (29 inches and 30 inches) from the bay on bloodworms.

Ray is feeling much better after his title fight with a bad dumpling. Comparatively now, he is practically flowery (Ray also is hoping this costume will help our missing spring find its way here…).
